Black Pepper Fish Soup
The wheather is not been good nowadays. Everyone at home is getting sick on & off. Even, I still feel my throat is not getting any better after taking the 'kahmo' tea bought by hubby @ the 'singseh' (chinese medical store). Well as they say, 'kahmo' tea is highly recomended to clear off the heatiness in our body, or maybe should try it more since once won't help.
Since everybody in the house is having serious problem with the appetite, I have tried this one, see if it can make the day better for the sick.

Simple yet healthy...
What You Need:
1 whole spanish mackerel or red snapper, cut, washed & drain
3 shallots, sliced
1 or 2 garlic/s, finely chopped
2cm ginger, sliced
2 or 3 potatoes, peeled & cut small
1 carrot, peeled & cut as desired
1 maggi ikan bilis stock <- kes tipu punya, hehehe..
2 tsp crushed black pepper
1 tsp thai fish sauce (nampla), optional
1 bunch 'tanghoon' (suún), soaked & strained
3 tbsp oil, for frying
5 cups water or more
Some corriander leaves
How To:
1. Heat oil in deep pot. Fry in shallots, garlics & ginger. Add in ikan bilis stock and crushed pepper and stir until it blends well with other ingredients.
2. Add in half of the 5 cups of water together with potatoes, bring to boil or untill potatoes is half cooked.
3. Once boil, pour in the rest of water and add in carrots & fish. You might want to add more water if desired.
4. Boil it slightly before adding the fish sauce (nampla) and & 'tanghoon' (suún).
5. Spread chopped corriander before the fire is turn off.

Goes well with rice or even porridge!!
